Program Description

Streib Education Center is a four-year electrical apprenticeshp program. The Department of Labor requires 8000 hours of on-the-job learning in order to become a journeyman electrician. Apprentices hired with Streib will work full-time; benefits begin after successful completion of a 60-day probationary period.   

While working full-time, apprentices attend the Streib Education Center one night per week from the middle of August to the middle of May. Students will attend a minimum of 144 hours of classroom education per year.   Upon successful completion of required classroom and on-the-job hours, students will be registered as a journeymen electrician with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship.

Requirements or Restrictions

Must be 18 years of age.  Have a high school diploma or GED.  Hold a valid Missouri Drivers License.  Be physically able to perform the tasks required of an electrician.  Pass a urinalysis drug test.

Length of Program

Four year of classroom training + 8000 hours of on-the-job learning.
