  1. How do I register for a free Missouri Apprentice Connect account?

On the home page, click "Login/Register" in the top section of your screen. You will be required to select an account type, and you should select "Other."

In order to ensure your company is not already registered, the system will request you enter your organization's name. Slowly type your organization's name (no abbreviations or acronyms) in the text box and a list will populate below. If you see your organization in the dropdown list, that means there is an existing account. Click on your organization's name. Some of the registration fields will disappear because Missouri Apprentice Connect already has your organization's information on the site. A registered user from your organization will be notified of your request and will review your information to confirm your account.

If the system does not find your organization registered with Missouri Apprentice Connect, simply complete the registration form. Your registration will be sent to Missouri Apprentice Connect to review and approve. Once a staff member approves your account, you will be able to post apprenticeships and search for apprentices.

If you have not gained full access to the site in 48 hours, contact us at Info@MOApprenticeConnect.com.

  4. I registered. Why can't I post an apprenticeship?

In order to provide the best possible service to potential apprentices, Missouri Apprentice Connect reviews every new organization's registration. Until a staff member approves your organization and grants you full access to the site, you will not be able to post apprenticeships. If you are joining an existing account, a registered user from your organization needs to grant you access before you can post apprenticeships.

If you have not received full access to the site in 48 hours, please contact us at Info@MOApprenticeConnect.com.

Make sure the title is correct and check the spelling before hitting "SAVE"!

  14. My apprenticeship's status is "Expired." What does that mean?

After an apprenticeship's application deadline date has passed, its status will change to "Expired." It will no longer be visible to potential apprentices. You can fix this in three ways:

    1. Change the apprenticeship's application deadline date to a date in the future to allow for more applicants to apply.
    2. Make the position inactive by clicking the apprenticeship's title in your workspace. Then select "Inactive" from the "Status" dropdown menu.
    3. Mark the position as filled. See question #24 for instructions.

  15. How will I know when a potential apprentice has applied to my apprenticeship?

You will receive an email each time a potential apprentice applies for your apprenticeship. You will be able to see a list of applicants in the "Applicants" box in your workspace.

Add info@MOApprenticeConnect.com as a safe email so it doesn't get stopped by your spam filter.

  16. Am I required to hire an apprenticeship for the positions that I post?

No. If you do not find an apprentice that matches your interests or needs, you are not required to accept an apprentice via our site.

  17. Where can the apprenticeships be located?

Missouri Apprentice Connect lists apprenticeship opportunities throughout the state of Missouri. The website allows potential apprentices to search for apprenticeships by preferred county. While some companies may have out of state locations, only Missouri apprenticeships will be approved for posting on Missouri Apprentice Connect.

If your organization has multiple locations in Missouri hosting apprenticeships, use the "Location tab" in the organization profile to create all the locations for your apprenticeship programs. Each of these locations will appear on the map when added to apprenticeship openings.

  18. Can I change my organization's information?

Yes. You can change your company's information at any time. Edit your profile by clicking "Manage the Organization Profile" located in the tan box on the right side of your Workspace.

  19. Can I put a link on the website?

Yes. You can enter your organization's web address, links to your organization's application site, and links to your organization's social media pages by clicking "Manage the Organization Profile" located in the tan box on the right side of your dashboard.

  20. How can I access a specific applicant's information?

    1. Click on "Login/Register," and log-in with your username and password.
    2. Scroll down on your Workspace to find the list of applicants.
    3. Click on the person's name.
    4. Click "Download Resume" located in the tan box on the right side of the page, or at the bottom of the white box containing the applicant's information. If you do not see the "Download Resume" links on the applicant's profile, they might not have a resume uploaded. You may contact the applicant to request his or her resume.
    5. If the applicant uploaded a PDF file, his or her resume will automatically pop up. If the applicant uploaded a .doc or .docx file, his or her resume will download and be available wherever downloaded files are located on your computer.
    6. After you open the applicant's resume, you may save and/or print the file if you would like.

Contact info@MOApprenticeConnect.com, if you need help downloading a resume.

  21. How can I contact an applicant?

You can contact an applicant by the phone number or email address provided in his or her profile. You can also contact an applicant through our internal messaging system. Simply click "Contact This Apprentice" at the bottom of the potential apprentice's profile.

  22. A potential apprentice says he/she is on the website, but I cannot find him/her.

After six months of inactivity, potential apprentice accounts become inactive making it impossible for them to be visible on the site. Potential apprentices may reactivate their account simply by logging in. If you need more assistance, contact us at Info@MOApprenticeConnect.com and provide us with the potential apprentice's name. We will work to resolve the issue.

  23. I'm not having luck finding an apprentice. What can I do?

Make sure that you have completely filled out your apprenticeship's description. The more specific its description, responsibilities, and qualifications are, the easier it is for potential apprentices to find you. You can do this by clicking your apprenticeship's title located in the "Apprenticeships" portion of your dashboard. Then click the "Description" tab to make edits.

Remember that the search for an apprenticeship can work both ways! Just as a potential apprentice can use the site to find you, you can use it to find them. Utilize the "Advanced Apprentice Search" in your dashboard to search for apprentices by keyword, skills, area of interest (SOC Code) or county.

If you still are not able to find a match, contact us at Info@MOApprenticeConnect.com, and we will be more than happy to assist you.

  24. What happens when I find an apprentice?

That's great you found an apprentice! Because the state looks to us for apprenticeship metrics, we ask that apprenticeships be marked as filled on the web site whether or not the apprentice was found through Missouri Apprentice Connect.

In order to mark the position as filled, click the green silhouette with a plus sign to the right of the apprenticeship's title in your dashboard. Then, fill in the apprentice's name, expected start date and expected end date.

  25. I want to post the same apprenticeship. How may I do that?

If you would like to re-post the same apprenticeship at a later date, click the two pieces of paper located to the right of the apprenticeship's title in your Workspace. Modify any of the apprenticeship's details, and make sure to update the application deadline, start, and end dates. Select "Active" in the "Status" dropdown menu to make the apprenticeship visible on the site once it's saved.

If you use an old description and just change the dates, your apprenticeship posting will not automatically post to the Missouri Apprentice Connect Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook pages.

  26. What is Missouri Apprentice Connect's confidentiality policy?

Information submitted to Missouri Apprentice Connect will be used for the purpose of connecting employers and potential apprentices with high-quality apprenticeship experiences. View our Privacy Policy.

If you do not know your RAPIDS Program Number, contact your U.S. Department of Labor Representative or contact Apprenticeship Missouri at apprenticeship@dhewd.mo.gov.

  29. Is there funding available to pay for apprenticeships?

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) advances the use of apprenticeship as an effective work-based learning approach that builds worker skills and establishes pathways to higher levels of employment and wages. WIOA funds can be used in a variety of ways to help job seekers and workers prepare for, enter, and complete apprenticeship programs.

WIOA programs can support the on-the-job training component of apprenticeship programs. WIOA funds can also pay for the cost of related classroom instruction for the apprentice, including tuition, books, supplies, fees, uniforms, tools and other required items. Customized training and incumbent worker training are other ways that WIOA funds can support businesses that sponsor apprenticeship programs.

To get more information about funding an apprenticeship contact the Missouri Job Center nearest you.
