Program Description

Dental Assistants at Jordan Valley are a key part of providing our patients with high quality dental care.  DAs work on a small team in a fast-paced environment.  Under the supervision of a dentist DAs are responsible for: helping patients feel comfortable during their visit, getting vital signs and a medical history for all patients, performing preventative services (exams, x-rays, cleanings, flossing and polishing), setting up and assisting the dentist with procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canals, etc., and disinfecting and preparing the room for the next patient. Successful Dental Apprentices have an interest in how the human body works, and have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. 

Typical Program Schedule:

8a-5p Mon-Fri for the first 3 months, 730a-530p 4 days a week for the last 3 months (will have either W or F off)

Program Cost:

$0 owed upon successful completion of program and fulfillment of 2-year work commitment at Jordan Valley

This program runs from Jordan Valley’s Tampa Clinic in Springfield, MO - but, there may be options for apprentices to complete portions of the program remotely from another Jordan Valley clinic location.  Please contact us for more details. 

Requirements or Restrictions

Applicants must be 18 years old at the start of the program.

COVID vaccine requried for all new employees.

 

No preadmission coursework required

No prior healthcare experience required

No HS diploma or equivalent required
